nspired by a changed world post-pandemic, exhibition executive Kevin O'Keefe, and his partner (and daughter) marketing executive Briana Dolan, both artists, wanted to create a new model of fine art fair that would be beneficial to artists, galleries, art collectors and buyers. Both had noted over the years that most major art shows in the US had a less than welcoming atmosphere and a high level of duplication in both galleries and artists shown.
This workshop invites you to reimagine visual journaling as a personal laboratory for reflection, idea generation, and creative exploration. It’s a space to take risks, test your thinking, and develop an authentic artistic voice through the interplay of images and words.
Together, we’ll explore how visual journaling becomes a powerful tool for inquiry—where experimentation and reflection lead to meaningful making. This is not about creating polished or perfect pages; it’s about documenting your thinking, capturing insights, and following ideas wherever they lead.
Both Lisa and James maintain daily visual journaling practices, using them to investigate new ideas, deepen understanding, and strengthen learning through visual note-taking—an approach shown to enhance memory, engagement, and creative confidence.
Join us as we shift the focus away from perfection and toward progress. In this two-hour, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn to use visual journaling to claim your ideas, clarify your intent, and build personal meaning through authentic inquiry. You’ll leave with practical strategies—and renewed permission—to record your creative journey in ways that are thoughtful, expressive, and uniquely your own.
In this hands-on workshop, we'll explore the playful world of mono-printing. Using ink, everyday objects, and a healthy dose of spontaneity. You'll experiment with mark-making, color layering, and ghost prints, discovering how happy accidents and unexpected results are part of the magic. No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to be surprised. You'll leave with a collection of original, one-of-a-kind artworks and maybe a new creative obsession.

Both of us have spent our lives making things—in front of audiences, in studios, and in classrooms. Through those experiences, I’ve come to believe that creativity does sacred work inside us. It gives form to what we’re wrestling with. It helps clarify what we think and feel. It helps us metabolize the unexpected. And maybe most importantly, it invites us into deeper presence with our lives.

For me, making art has never just been about the finished piece. It’s about the process of paying attention, asking questions, and allowing something meaningful to emerge.

“I've gone to Restore since 2022. Every year I have come away feeling a sense of community, belonging, and closeness to the divine. No matter where I am in my faith journey, I am confident I can find peace and joy at Restore. This year was no exception! I found peace, joy, belonging, and community. I had ideas challenged in meaningful ways while also expanding my faith. I also found improved relationships with my parents as I shared the experience with them.” —John A.
