Faith Matters Podcast

I recently had the chance to be part of a conversation about something that has become increasingly important to me over the years: creativity as a spiritual practice—not something reserved for artists, but a way of living.

I was honored to join Aubrey Chaves, Tim Chaves and The Lisa Show's Lisa Valentine Clark—comedian, actor—to talk about creativity, making, and the deeper work that happens when we create.

Both of us have spent our lives making things—in front of audiences, in studios, and in classrooms. Through those experiences, I’ve come to believe that creativity does sacred work inside us. It gives form to what we’re wrestling with. It helps clarify what we think and feel. It helps us metabolize the unexpected. And maybe most importantly, it invites us into deeper presence with our lives.

For me, making art has never just been about the finished piece. It’s about the process of paying attention, asking questions, and allowing something meaningful to emerge.
