We all have something that we’re dealing with that can seem heavy at times. Sometimes it’s just the day in and day out routines of life. Other times it’s specific challenges as we move forward in our journey. These trials can also provide opportunities to learn, grow and become stronger. The difficulty is not only the load but how we choose to carry it. In these works on paper, I strive to embrace the idea of a positive determination to see challenges, difficulties and trials as part of life’s journey and an opportunity for personal reflection and growth.

This monotype print is from an ongoing series and pressures of life and challenges of home.
Monotypes are prized because of their unique textural qualities. The process involves drawing on a smooth surface with printer's ink then transferring the image on to a sheet of absorbent paper by pressing by hand and/or through a printing press.
